During her early career as an interior decorator, Sylvie Paulic developed a passion for art, inspired by colour, beautiful interiors and the works of old masters such as Rembrandt, Sorolla, Fantin Latour and Sargent.
Driven by her passion for art, Sylvie completed ten years of drawing and art study which included four years of drawing practice and trompe-l’oeil painting at the Louvre’s Decorative Arts in Paris and also four years at the Renaissance copy shop in Paris.
Following an inspirational meeting with Mr. Philippe Lejeune (a former student of Maurice Denis) who advised Sylvie “you have talent, but it will not be enough, you will have to work!” she dedicated herself to her career as a professional artist understanding the effort and patience and perseverance needed to succeed as an artist.
Sylvie specializes in oil focusing on portraiture, still life and interior views throughout daily life. Her work, loosely echoing the styles of old masters she has been inspired by, conveys her love of colour, light and shadow providing the viewer with a painting that stimulates the senses.
