Olivier was born in Neuilly sur Seine in 1953, and his early life provided a great foundation for his art. His grandfather was a celebrated architect, winner of the prestigious Prix de Rome and founder of l’Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Cairo. Olivier often visited his grandfather’s studio and his passion for the arts of construction has continued and developed in his own work. His acrylic and oil paintings reveal an awareness of space and an understanding of the architectural construction of objects. This cubist approach enables him to create a sense of volume on a two-dimensional canvas.
